Founder's Vision

Founded by Surya Anuntula, Sutras of Bharat is a journey across India's living textile traditions. Travelling from cluster to cluster, learning from master weavers, and documenting the stories behind each craft, the initiative brings together diverse handloom traditions under one roof. From celebrated weaves to lesser-known looms that are on the verge of disappearing or facing difficult times, every handloom is given equal importance and a place in the larger narrative of Indian textiles.

Driven by a belief that India's textile heritage deserves greater recognition, Surya personally studies the history, techniques, and craftsmanship behind each weave before handpicking it for the collection. Through Sutras of Bharat, he helps consumers who value craftsmanship discover the right products while creating greater awareness of India's rich handloom heritage across the country.

By supporting weaving clusters and bringing attention to their work, he also contributes to uplifting communities that are struggling and helps preserve and celebrate the extraordinary crafts that make Bharat unique.
