Gollabhama sarees are renowned handloom weaves from Telangana, celebrated for their iconic Gollabhama motif inspired by the Yadava Golla women who brought milk and butter to Krishna during the Dvaparayuga.

Woven in both cotton and silk, these sarees feature Gollabhama motifs skillfully woven into the fabric using traditional extra-weft techniques. This intricate process creates a subtle depth and texture that becomes an integral part of the weave, rather than a surface embellishment.

Once woven across nearly 2,000 looms, the Gollabhama tradition is now sustained by only about 30–40 weavers. As the craft grows increasingly rare, each Gollabhama saree becomes a precious collectible piece of living heritage, carrying forward a centuries-old story from the Mahabharata through a tradition few are fortunate enough to own, wear, and preserve.
